Peaceful Easy Feelings...
I think by now you guys are aware that Natalie and I had the best time writing songs and exploring the beach. Meanwhile up North, in the little town I grew up in, my family was experiencing another blizzard. Pretty sure they've lost count this year.
I remember winters from being a kid, sometimes you wouldn't see the sun for weeks. It was hard not to get depressed being surrounded by that grey brown slushy coldness. I remember it felt like it always snowed on my birthday, which I hated by that point in the season. I think that's one of the reasons being in warm sunny weather always makes me feel like a brand new woman. Seriously still on a high from that beach trip.
What a lucky girl I am! I started my birthday week in FL, spent my birthday weekend in Nashville celebrating with my dad and my best friends, had an amazing joint honkey tonk bday party with Nat, and now am finishing off my birthday week celebrating with Rick's family in GA. So much birthday love. βΊοΈ
I'm sitting here writing this on Rick's Mama's front porch, drinking my coffee, staring out over the farm and it's a different kind of peaceful from the ocean, but so peaceful still. The dogs are running around trying to chase the cows, the chickens obviously don't know that I'm up yet cause they are still crowing at me, and oh those beautiful GA pines! It's beautiful and I'm happy. And as I sit here one year older, I think this year I'm going to let myself feel happy more often. And I think you should too.
This dress is probably my absolute favorite from Epic Rain Boutique. This dark grey almost purple acts as a great spring neutral and I am ALL about it. You're gonna see me wearing this dress on stage for sure. Oh also... It's called the "Dear Dolly Dress" Ummmmm it's too much adorableness to take.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend and that you feel all the love today!
All MY π,
Ruthie
