Me and Emmylou (Acoustic)
I can't believe "Get Drunk and Cry", my first album, has been out for over 6 months now! Seems like only yesterday we were in the studio making the finishing touches on the mixes. These songs may have been out in the world a minute, but they still mean SO much to me.
I wanted to go back to a deep cut (and one of my absolute favorites) from the record to make an acoustic vid for you guys. This is the last song on "Get Drunk and Cry", and I love that we finish the whole thing off with my dog barking. Pretty appropriate if you know me! ( I ❤️ all the doggos.)
This is a song I wrote in effort to write more up tempos. The label was saying they needed more happy songs from me and at first, they were a little confused when I turned in one about my dog, but they quickly agreed it needed a spot on the record.
I always say that while this song is about my dog, it's really about how a girl (or guy!) can do absolutely anything they put their mind to when they feel the love and support of their tribe, their people, wrapped all around them. And in my case, that happens to be one precocious 10 lb chihuahua named Emmylou.
Here's my acoustic video for "Me and Emmylou"! Hope you love it. Let me know what other songs you'd like to hear!!!
All my 💖,
Ruthie
